ACHA Community Calendar

To facilitate communication
among various organizations, ACHA website www.asiapeace.org has a listing
of various South Asia Related Peace, Harmony, Secularism, & Human Rights
Organizations in the world that are known to ACHA.
SOUTH ASIA CULTURAL RESOURCE CENTER (SACRC)
Following upon the deliberations its 1998 Leadership Conference, and a questionnaire survey of South Asians in Portland-Vancouver area in 1998-99, ACHA decided to initiate the development of a South Asian Cultural Resource Center in Portland-Vancouver area.
The objective of SACRC is
to promote peace and harmony among the people of South Asia living in Portland
metropolitan area by bringing them together in an all-inclusive environment
of mutual respect, learning and understanding. Since its activities will
be open to everyone regardless of national origin, it will also promote
appreciation of diversity among non-South Asians.
It will accomplish these
goals by capitalizing on the strengths of the local and regional South
Asian community in terms of its diversity, professional and business skills,
and its heritage. Also, it will develop and foster relationships with other
organizations in the general Portland area community.
